CARA BASTONE how is she not Emily Henry levels of successful. Totally knocked me out with her last two books. Emotionally rich, romantic, fun/funny.
Also - holding it down in the absurdly tiny category of city romance. It’s weird that small town is such a huge subcategory while there are so few romances set in cities and half of those feel like they’re set in the suburbs. It's got to be the Hallmark effect, which is underpinned by the very conservative idea that you can only find community in a small town. Bastone’s New York actually gets the appeal of city living. It’s busy and eclectic and exciting but it’s homey too. Just so impressed with her.
